Final 2023 Check In

Wow it looks like I managed to get 25 quilts ready for donation.  The small ones will go to little lambs and I’m not sure where I’ll donate the larger ones.  Here are the final quilts.

And here is a picture of my roses.  They are in full bloom and smell heavenly.

Okay that is it for this year.  I’m not going to quit making charity quilts but wish I could find a good local charity.

H2H first check in for 2023

Here we go with the first check in.  I’ve been busy and while I’m sewing my mind is already thinking of the next ones to make.  I haven’t made any baby quilts yet but plan on it.  I have several more lap quilt ideas I want to make too. So here we go with the first 10 quilts.

Pink postage stamp quilt.  Used up bits and pieces of leftover binding.

Using up butterfly fabric.  Didn’t make a dent so I’ll be making more quilts with them.
Bonnie Hunter leader/ender challenge for this year.

Tumbler block and another leader/ender.

This was a kit I found that looked quick to make.

This is a cheater panel and I made three of them.  Yeah they are gone now!

The colors in this one were inspired by the minky on the back.

That’s it for this check in.  I have several waiting to be quilted that I’ll share next time.

H2H 2022

Boy am I behind this year.  Because of tendinitis in my left hand it took forever to sew this year.  I did manage to  make 10 quilts.  They are all toddler size and I'm sending them to Quilts for Ukraine.  Hello Cotton quilt shop in Utah is collecting them.  Today's count is over 4,000 collected that they have collected.

Nothing fancy this year but I did manage to use up a lot of fabric.  All the quilts have minky on the back.

H2H Final Count

I was really on a roll this year.  I used up flannel, panels, and lots of big chunks of fabric.  I made 33 quilts this year.  Here is where they will go:

Little Lambs        14 (I already mailed these)

Local charities     13 (delivering next week)

Michigan charities 6  (my old guild)

I will be travelling to Michigan the end of June and the end of July so I hope to get more done for them by then.  I still have several cut out ready to sew.

Here are the last quilts I finished.  The lighting was terrible because is was so cloudy.

This quilt I used up all the fish fabric and the turquoise.  I even pieced the back to use it up.  It felt good to get it out of my stash.  I believe I've had it for about 10 years. This is going to the local charity.

                                                        Back

The next two quilts were from a Debbie Mumm panel and some coordinating fabrics.  Again, I believe this yardage is at least 8-10 years old. One is for the local charity and the other for Michigan charity.

I had two of these panels.  They are both going to the local charity.

This is really hard to see but the center is a cheater fabric double wedding ring print.  I wish the picture was better.  Its really pretty soft pastels.  This is going to the Michigan charity.

This challenge has really got me inspired to keep going.  Now that I have a local charity and the group in Michigan I can work on quilts all year.

Thanks to Sarah at confessionsofafabricaddict.blogspot.com for the push every year.

H2H check in #2

It's time for check-in number 2 for H2H.  I've been busy doing customer stuff and store displays so not much time for charity quilts.  But I did manage to get five simple ones done.  I found a stack of 6" squares I won a long time ago so I made two quilts, one out of a stack of flannel squares, and did a leader/ender with 2 1/2" squares.  The buffalo plaid quilt was cut out last year so I finished it up. These quilts are all going the Michigan in June for the quild to give to the chemo center there.    I hope to have time to do a few more quick ones with squares.  I have a drawer full of 5" squares that need to be used up. I also pulled fabrics to make some more buffalo plaid quilts.  These are fast to make and I love the look.

This brings my total up to 27 quilts done this year (so far).

2021 H2H

Well it's a new start for H2H.  This year I'm focusing on using up panels, kits, and the never ending supply of flannel scraps. Not only am I going to send to one of the H2H charities but I've made contact with a group in the neighboring county here in Georgia that donates to children programs and nursing homes.  And a guild in Michigan as contacted me to donate.  They donate to children and chemo patients.  Looks like I'll be busy!  So here is where I'm at so far - 22.  There are several duplicate ones since I was using up panels.

Why oh why do I have so many panels?  Oh well, glad they are quilted and can be used rather than sitting in a cupboard.

These are all panels.  The first three I had two of each.  I backed each with flannel from the never ending supply.

This was a fabric book panel so rather than make the book it is now a quilt.

Loved this flannel panel.  I don't know why I never made anything with it.  Glad it's going to be used.

This is a panel too.  It was so light I couldn't get a good picture of it but isn't the quilting cool?

And here are the flannel ones so far.  The first one I made two because I had lots of the flannel.

This was a kit I bought on sale from Connecting Threads.  It was fast and easy.

And finally this one.  I started this in 1991.  I don't know why I never finished it but yeah some little boy will love it.
